The mission of the Sports and Pools Department of the Federal City of Bonn is to create suitable conditions for school and club sports as well as for informal sports and to develop them further according to needs. To this end, the sports administration with its 110 employees maintains and operates 49 outdoor sports facilities, 127 sports halls and gymnastic rooms and 14 indoor, outdoor and school swimming pools.
The Sports and Pools Department sees itself as a partner and promoter of sport and as a service provider for the approximately 300 sports clubs in Bonn with their more than 65,000 members.
