The IOC is a not-for-profit independent international organisation made up of volunteers. The IOC President presides over all its activities, while the IOC Session and Executive Board are responsible for taking the main decisions for the organisation.

ICSSPE was founded in the late 1950s with the aims of maintaining an inclusive perspective on the different disciplines of sport, sport science and physical education, and of furthering a continuing collaboration between them. It brings together a wide range of scientific and professional organisations of various sport branches and disciplines, and creates the possibility for interdisciplinary collaboration.

ICSSPE is the world’s largest network of organisations and institutions concerned with sport, sport science and physical education, accounting for millions of people. Among others, the Council belongs to the associated bodies of UNESCO and co-operates with the sport movement. By fostering sport, exercise, education and health, ICSSPE contributes to the development of human society. The organisation operates with the intention to Investigate for a better scientific understanding of all facets of human movement; Educate for a better quality of life and improved health for all people; Advocate for the benefits related to an active lifestyle and the ethical values inherent in sporting activity.

TAFISA strives to raise awareness about the benefits of Sport for All and physical activity.

As the world is facing an unprecedented epidemic of physical inactivity, which threatens our future and that of the next generations, TAFISA endeavours to reintroduce physical activity into the everyday life in order to bring joy, health, social interaction, integration and development to communities and citizens around the globe, through the promotion of Sport for All.

The German Sport University Cologne, founded in Cologne in 1947, combines qualified teaching and international research of the highest level.

The German Sport University Cologne is no ordinary university. It is the only university in Germany that is dedicated exclusively to the world of sport and exercise science. While sport and exercise science courses are available alongside many other subjects at other universities, the situation in Cologne is unique: all aspects of the exciting field of sport and exercise science are studied in detail at 20 institutes, four affiliate institutes and nine academic centres.

This expertise concentrated in one location allows for a unique interdisciplinary approach and provides the opportunity to examine complex social topics from various perspectives of sport and exercise science. The spectrum ranges from health to biomechanics and physiology, but also economic, historical and ethical considerations.
