National Sports Convention 2020: Dates realigned

The National Sports Convention (NSC) 2020 has, in consultation with its key stakeholders, chosen to reflect the Governments guidance and realign the NSC 2020, from 13 – 15 July in Melbourne until later in the year.

Due to the escalation of COVID-19 and recognising the current very fluid environment that we all find ourselves in, the National Sports Convention is now working with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, speakers and collaborators to re-schedule to early November 2020. Recognising that the industry needs to focus on how it can continue to support the community to stay healthy and exercise in the short-term and then how to plan to resurrect the sector once COVID -19 has been suppressed.

The NSC is Australia’s largest community sport and recreation convention and is very proud to be working with over 40 peak body collaborators to bring opportunities for the industry, to be inspired by global approaches and local insights. The NSC will continue to work with key collaborators, speakers and sponsors to ensure that the rescheduled dates will be just as successful.

First priority will always be to ensure the health and safety of everyone, including delegates, speakers, visitors, NSC personnel, event partners and members of the local community. Once the new dates have been finalized, the updated program will be provided. Together with key industry peak bodies the NSC team will be exploring how this year’s rescheduled NSC can be incorporated to kickstart the sector again.
