A rich and diverse learning experience: The 2024 IAKS study trip to Australia offers three options leading to Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane in the period of 25 June to 3 July 2024, combining traditional and modern sports facilities, cultural landmarks, and community engagement – plus the flexibility of exploring Australian iconic landscapes and wildlife. Today we cast a spotlight on the on the Melbourne leg of the tour (25-26 June).

Discussing architecture, technology use and fan engagement

The site visits in Melbourne will be focusing on a blend of traditional and modern sports stadiums. 

Participants will delve into the legacy of the iconic Melbourne Olympic Park (with Melbourne Cricket Groundone of the world’s most famous sports venues; and Rod Laver Arena and John Cain Arena which host the annual Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament and many other sporting and cultural events;). The tour continues at AAMI Park (Australia’s premier rectangular venue which hosted the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup), and Brimbank Aquatic & Wellness Centre (featuring a 50-metre, 10-lane Olympic-sized swimming pool with adjustable swim wall and a separate programme pool for swimming lessons).
