On 22nd of October 2024, the seminar “Synthetic Turf: New Trends and Solutions” was held in hybrid format at the site of the Consejo Superior de Deportes CSD (Higher Sports Council) in Madrid, Spain. The event was organized by IAKS Spain in collaboration with the CSD, and the companies OPSA and IGOID Sportec.
The event gathered experts, professionals and representatives of key sports institutions to address the most recent trends in the use of synthetic turf in sports facilities. The seminar experienced an innovative approach, presenting topics such as the sustainability of materials, new technologies in manufacturing and maintenance, and solutions to improve performance and safety on this type of surface.
The event saw a resounding success, both for the high online and in-person participation and for the quality of the interventions and the networking opportunities. In addition, it served as a platform to discuss current challenges in the sports grounds sector and to imagine the future for the use of synthetic surfaces in public and private facilities. The collaboration between the organizing entities was essential to achieve this impact and to position the seminar as a reference in the sector.
