IAKS member City of Coquitlam will hold free webinars, entitled the “Recreation Facility Innovation Lecture Series“ on June 2, 9, 16, and 23.
The City is inviting facility planning and design professionals and others to view its upcoming four-part online lecture series in June, which will bring together a dozen local and international architects, planners and designers to discuss trends and innovation in public recreation facilities.
The intent of the series is to facilitate collaboration and idea-sharing for the benefit of all participants while inspiring new and creative approaches in Coquitlam’s future facilities. The wide-ranging conversations will cover ground such as trends, changing user expectations and needs, championing diverse and inclusive participation, social and environmental sustainability, and what will constitute success in the future of recreation. Coquitlam staff developed the concept for the lecture series while investigating opportunities for innovation in facility planning and construction. While the City has significant in-house depth of expertise and experience in planning major facilities, it is continually seeking opportunities for professional development and improvement, and saw value in sharing this knowledge with professionals within the field.
