IGOID is a research group founded within in the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Its research focuses on three basic lines: Research on sports surfaces, from their design and construction to their influence on athletes; Application of new technologies for the monitoring and analysis of sports performance and sports practice; Strategies and tools for sports management and sports promotion.
The research group promotes training in sports management through different online courses, and has a department for the development of technical services through the spin-off IGOID-SPORTEC S.L. These services include accreditations by ENAC (ISO / IEC 17025), FIFA and World Rugby for the quality control of artificial turf sports surfaces.
