More dates in 2025 for expertise and inspiration

Start the new year with inspiration and sound expertise. After many innovative ideas for sports facility infrastructure have been discussed in recent years, concrete and realisable solutions are increasingly emerging as to how we can meet the daily challenges.

Gain first-hand impressions and specialist knowledge from the experts of the IAKS network on the pressing issues facing our industry, such as ecological, economic and social sustainability, digitalisation, health promotion and smart operator concepts.

More than ever, we want to promote the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge in 2025 and offer numerous opportunities to do so at seminars, workshops and study trips.

The IAKS calendar of events provides an initial overview, which will be dynamically expanded over the coming weeks.

Right in January, the webinar ‘Sustainability in pools and recreation centres’ will show how these facilities can be more profitable and at the same time have a smaller ecological footprint. The ‘Outdoor’ symposium, which will take place in Berlin's Olympic Stadium in March, is dedicated to the topics of digitalisation and AI.

Would you like to find out about the latest developments in sustainable design, active spaces, swimming pools as social meeting places and inclusive community sports and recreation spaces? Then Nordic’s leading sports summit conference ‘Träffpunkt Idrott’ is your destination in March, especially on 12 March - the day when IAKS Nordic brings international expertise to the sports summit in Gothenburg. Combine your stay in Sweden's capital with the IAKS Nordic study tour on 11 March.  It will be held in English and will take you to six exciting projects around the city of Gothenburg, including the numerous facilities at the large Kviberg sports area and the historic Slottsskogsvallen sports ground.

The IAKS UK+Ireland symposium will focus on the question of how sports and leisure facilities can better meet the actual needs of society through a new approach. The two-day seminar and tour will take place from 10 to 11 April in Cardiff, Wales.

The absolute highlight of the year will be the events in the week from 28 to 31 October. You can look forward to inspiring key notes and specialist presentations on the design, construction and operation of sports and leisure facilities over a total of four days at the 29th IAKS Congress. Together with the FSB and aquanale trade fair duo, it is the absolute must-attend event for all industry players in Cologne, Germany in October. Equally trend-setting are the winning projects of the IOC IAKS Architecture Prizes, which will be presented to interested trade fair visitors as a trade exhibition and awarded prizes at the gala dinner on 28 October.

Plan these and many other opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange and networking firmly into your diary. Follow us on LinkedIn for daily updates.
