With the aim to promote and develop grassroots aquatics participation, FINA is pleased to announce that Myrtha Pools will support FINA’s Pools for All Programme for the next four years, providing swimming pools in locations around the world.

Announced on the sidelines of the 19th FINA World Championships Budapest 2022, Myrtha Pools will supply one (25x15m) Learn to Swim pool to specific FINA national federations every year for the next four years.

Launched in 2019, FINA’s Pools for All programme is designed to ensure that all national federations have access to state-of-the-art facilities and make aquatics safe and more accessible for people around the world.

“It is FINA’s responsibility to help as many people as possible to learn to swim,” said FINA President Husain Al-Musallam. “With the support of Myrtha Pools, our Pools for All programme will make world class facilities available to our National Federations around the world and help get more young people into the water and learning to swim.”

Myrtha Pools CEO Roberto Colletto expressed how the Pools for All programme aligns with the company’s vision of making swimming more globally accessible.

“At Myrtha Pools we are determined to help FINA promote swimming as a sport and an essential life skill worldwide,” Colletto said. “We are therefore very proud to support FINA’s Pools for All Programme and provide FINA’s national federations with access to affordable learn to swim facilities, regardless of the location.”

In 2021, the Bhutan Aquatics Federation became the first national federation to benefit from the Pools for All Programme. Located on the edge of the Himalayas Mountain range at 2400m (8200ft), FINA is financing and overseeing the construction of a pool in the country’s capital of Thimphu, making it one of the highest swimming facilities in the world and the first in the country.
