Expansion of the product portfolio with ProField roll foam shock pads

Schmitz Foam is expanding its product portfolio with the launch of **ProField**, a new line of roll foam shock pads designed to meet the growing demand in the artificial turf market. The new product line offers an innovative solution alongside the existing **ProPlay** series. **ProField** is the perfect choice for sports fields that must meet the highest standards.

“With ProField now part of our portfolio, we are introducing roll foam shock pads and expanding our offering for customers. This enables us to work more closely with project stakeholders and recommend the most suitable shock pad for their specific requirements,” said Ron Lokhorst, Commercial Manager at Schmitz Foam. “We expect ProField to become a valued option for artificial turf manufacturers and contractors focused on quality and efficiency.”

“The artificial turf industry knows us for ProPlay, which is made from 100% recycled polyethylene foam. ProField, on the other hand, is designed for fast and efficient installation,” Lokhorst explained. “With ProField, we significantly reduce installation time, providing a clear advantage for turf producers and contractors.”

Innovative Product Development
The development of ProField began with a comprehensive market analysis of existing shock pads. “By configuring our own roll foam with a double-sided laminated nonwoven layer, we created a product that not only meets the most stringent requirements for shock absorption and dynamic fatigue but also excels in vertical drainage performance,” explained Marcel Spaan, Engineer at Schmitz Foam.

Sustainability and Recycling
ProField is not only technologically advanced but also sustainable. Up to 30% of the material is recycled, and at the end of its lifecycle, the product can be reprocessed by Schmitz Foam—something no other company offers. Lokhorst emphasized: “We are able to recycle both ProPlay and ProField at Schmitz Foam, enabling us to manage the entire product lifecycle and contribute to the circular economy.”

ProField: Available from this Spring
ProField will be available for artificial turf manufacturers starting in Spring 2025. With this new product line, Schmitz Foam reinforces its commitment to providing flexible and sustainable solutions for the artificial turf market.
