On 29 November, IAKS Japan is organizing a study trip to the „Minami-Machida Grandberry Park“ in Tokyo. The combination of an urban sports park and a shopping mall is operated under a Public-Private-Partnership. Minami Machida Granbury Park is a project that integrates the elements of the commercial zone in front of the station with an urban park for movement and recreation under the theme of "a town where everything is like a park." The project aims to solve recent social issues. The active design encourages to physical activity; and a green infrastructure allows temporary storage and infiltration of rainwater in response to the climate change.
IAKS member Prof. Takanori Fukuoka will guide the trip. He was in charge of the landscape design for the Minami Machida Granbury Park.
