The SAP Garden in Munich, which opened in September 2024, is the practical example of this year's IAKS Ice Rink Management Conference - and therefore THE meeting place for all directors, operations managers and other staff at ice rinks! The popular advanced training event is taking place for the 20th time and will provide information on all topics relating to ice - from practice, for practice.

The event kicks off on Monday afternoon, 19 May, with a tour of the SAP Garden. The new sports arena was built on the site of the former Olympic cycling stadium right next to Munich's iconic Olympic Stadium and is the new home stadium of the EHC Red Bull Munich ice hockey club and the FC Bayern Munich basketball team. Three additional ice rinks serve as training and public facilities. The bowl can gather up to 10,700 spectators for ice hockey and 11,500 for basketball. How does the challenging conversion work for both sports? The existing stands can be shifted in height and slope while mobile stands are added for basketball games, placed on top of the covered rink, to create more seating.
