Join Prof. Dr Takanori Fukuoka (Associate Professor, RLA (US), Ph.D from the Tokyo University of Agriculture) on day 2 at NSC | IAKS 2024. Together with Tina Saaby (Director, Dansk byplanlaboratorium - The Danish Town Planning Institute), Takanori Fukuoka in his role as IAKS Executive Board member and IAKS Japan Vice President will bring his expertise from our IAKS global network to Australia’s leading knowledge sharing and networking event for the play, recreation and sport industry.
Takanori brings his wealth of international experience on the importance and vital role of connecting and integrating parks and open spaces to create active places and communities through sport and active recreation. With expertise and experience in landscape architecture and overseeing projects such as Minamimachida Grandberry Park and Courtyard HIROO, will guide the discussion on enhancing urban landscapes for active living.
Takanori will also be involved in the workshop „Utilisation of Space to Create Active Environments Locally“ . How can we creatively transform open spaces and sports facilities to inspire activity and combat sedentary lifestyles locally? Takanori delves into the pivotal role of connecting parks and open spaces in cultivating active environments with an international lens and experience in Japan. Discover how reimagining these spaces is the key to activating communities and combating sedentary lifestyles.
Tina Saaby identifies as a „city maker and place maker“. With expertise in the active cities global framework, she is dedicated to designing with the community in mind, placing emphasis on 'liveability, life quality and community' in the development of a city.
