On 18 May, IAKS Japan welcomed to its expert workshop Prof. Hiroko Tominaga from Kogakuin University (Bronze medal winner oft he IOC IAKS award in 2015), and Ryo Kobayashi, Planus Corporation (Bronze medal winner of the IOC IPC IAKS Architecture and Design Award for Students and Young Professionals 2021).
Ryo Kobayashi shared his idea of combining sports and the latest technology, considering the background of the design with a connection to create active areas.
Prof. Tominaga presented the Kyudo and boxing halls at Kogakuin University. The project was carried out by involving the students in the choice of materials and construction methods.
After the presentations, the group discussed the potential of small facilities, on how they can be used not only for sports activities but also for general purposes.
The participants appreciated the event as a very valuable meeting. They enjoyed the information provided about the two projects which were awarded the IOC IPC IAKS architecture prizes.
