IAKS Australia's afternoon panel discussion on 28 April will see a great panel of experts to open the discussion on how to overcome barriers to create more inclusive sport and leisure facilities and programs. One of our special panel speakers Kerry Turner will be discussing overcoming barriers to increase female participation.
Kerry is the current lead for the NSW Government's Women in Sport Strategy ‘Her Sport Her Way’. She is a multi award-winning project manager, innovator and strategist, and has been the public face of a multitude of initiatives that promote sport for all and wellbeing in the community. She is a former World Champion who has played 108 test caps for Australia in water polo and understands the power of sport to influence culture.
We are delighted to host the event at Coogee Surf Life Saving Club and offer a brief tour at the start. One of the oldest surf lifesaving clubs in Australia, Coogee SLSC reopened in December 2020 after a major upgrade by AJ+C, which earned a Distinction for Accessibility at the 2021 IOC IPC IAKS Architecture Prizes.
