The 2020 IAKS Study Trip has been postponed from 26-27 May to 29-30 September. The new promising agenda includes a multitude of innovative sports and leisure facilities in metro Vancouver area.

The 2020 Conference on Innovative Indoor Sports and Leisure Facilities has been postponed from 13 May in The Hague until a later date. We are now working with all collaborators and Sportcampus Zuiderpark to re-schedule the conference.

Richmond Olympic Oval at 2020 IAKS Study Trip

The signature venue of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, the Richmond Olympic Oval, has been transformed into a multipurpose international centre for sports competitions, recreation, health, wellness, and entertainment. Ten years after the Winter Games, it is one of the eight facilities to be visited during the 2020 IAKS Study Trip.

Ice rinks for leisure and physical activity on the agenda on 7 November

Ice rink experts from Northern America will exchange ideas how to develop the planning and design of ice arenas beyond the traditional model. The international panel will provide examples of successful single-pad and multi-pad ice facilities for sports and leisure use, as well as community-scaled spectator arenas that bring an aspect of entertainment into the market.
