SAP Garden in Munich’s Olympic Park is an arena designed from the outset for multifunctional use. Its operating concept combines professional and grassroots sports with corporate events and external event formats, enabling high utilization throughout the year. The foundation for this approach is an infrastructure that can accommodate both sport-specific requirements and a wide range of event formats in an efficient and commercially viable manner.

It allows the playing surface and spectator stands to be adapted to different usage requirements within a short period of time, creating the necessary conditions for a highly flexible venue operation. In addition to home games of EHC Red Bull München and FC Bayern Basketball, the arena can be configured for handball, indoor football, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), padel and a wide range of other sports and live entertainment formats. Recurring events such as OKTAGON MMA, the Handball Super Cup and the FCB Legends Cup demonstrate the venue’s broad range of possible applications.
Ten third-party events, attracting a total of 97,478 visitors in 2025, highlight how consistently the flexible infrastructure is already being utilized for a diverse range of event formats.
On non-match days, the hospitality areas and event spaces are available for conferences, workshops, trade shows, corporate events and Christmas parties. The range of spaces extends from exclusive suites for meetings of up to ten people to flexible event rooms accommodating up to 300 guests, as well as the Bowl, which can host event formats for up to 2,000 participants.
The offering is complemented by exclusive catering partner DO&CO and a wide range of options for individually tailoring the event experience — from arena branding and the integration of external speakers to exclusive guided tours of the venue.
The development of this business segment further underlines the arena’s holistic operating concept: in 2025, SAP Garden hosted 65 corporate and special events with a total of 7,931 guests.
These figures demonstrate how a modern multifunctional arena can achieve efficient utilization through a variety of use cases and operate year-round, independently of its regular sporting schedule.
SAP Garden therefore serves as an example of a contemporary venue operation in which sporting activities, third-party events and business events are understood as integral components of a comprehensive overall concept.
