IAKS Japan invites to visit Shinjuku Central Park

On 27 March, IAKS Japan - together with BEACHTOWN President and IAKS member Takashi Kurono - organizes a guided tour to PARKERS TOKYO in Shinjuku Central Park. The tour will see best practices in initiatives for health and sports facilities in urban parks.

From trend sport to everyday activity

Urban slacklining describes slackline equipment in urban areas that can be used by anyone without their own gear on a low-threshold and permanent basis. This makes a sustainable contribution to the development of mobile and healthy communities. And it can be achieved with little space and at low cost.

IAKS Japan invites to study trip to Nozuta Park in Machida City, 20 June

The Nozuta Park is located in the northern part of Machida City, Tokyo, and is a comprehensive park with an area of ​​about 40 ha. Nozuta Park Director Hiroyuki Ishikawa will show around. Registration (free of charge) limited to 15 spaces, with priority to IAKS members.

IAKS Japan organizes study trip to urban sports park

On 29 November, IAKS Japan is organizing a study trip to the „Minami-Machida Grandberry Park“ in Tokyo. The combination of an urban sports park and a shopping mall is operated under a Public-Private-Partnership. The active design encourages to physical activity; and a green infrastructure allows temporary storage and infiltration of rainwater in response to the climate change.

Two online events hosted by IAKS Japan

In October, IAKS Japan had invited experts to give insights about “Places for health and sports” and the “Walkable City”. More than 40 participants took part in each event and learned about optimizing facility usage and the the impact of walking and planning to public health.
